For this baby shower, the theme was based off of the chosen baby bedding and accessories, which was "NoJo Jungle." Here is a light switch featuring the NoJo monkey:

For the same friend I made the beach themed wedding cake, I made these super cute "It's a Boy" cupcakes for her baby shower. I also made these same cupcakes for a baby girl shower as you'll see in a later post.

Minnie Mouse Themed Cake

For my niece's 3rd birthday party, we went with a Minnie Mouse theme. The decorative pink gumballs and ears made out of fondant were potentially a bigger hit with the kids than the cake itself. And, here's the birthday girl making a wish!!!! =)

Beach Wedding

One of my very best friends got married in Ocean City, MD during the summer of 2009. The wedding took place on the beach and this beach-themed cake was made for the outdoor reception that was held back in Wheeling a week later. Seashells made out of chocolate and brown sugar for sand sound good to me. =)

Pink & Orange Flowered Tier

I made this cake for my Dad's wedding reception in the summer of 2009. I had never done a multiple tier cake for an event and up until this point, I pretty much just experimented for family. I was given complete freedom with the cake and arrived at this simple yet elegant design fit for summertime. Although one of my first tiered cakes, possibly one of my favorites.

This cake was for my nephew's 8th birthday party. The field is chocolate cake with graham cracker "dirt" and a separate white cake as the actual baseball.

Elmo Cake & Cupcakes

I was really excited to make an Elmo cake and cupcakes for my niece's 2nd birthday. I found similar cupcakes online and made a special trip to Sarris' candy to buy orange and black Jelly Belly's and a special icing tip for the "hair". I did live in Canonsburg at the time, so it wasn't that CRAZY of a thing to do, but I do remember that I went to Sarris' and for the life of me couldn't figure out why it was so busy and why there were 2 cops directing traffic in front of the store. Haha....I eventually realized it was the Saturday before Easter....probably only the busiest day of the year to make a special trip to Sarris' for 30 orange and black jelly beans. However, pretty typical of me. Anyways, the cake and cupcakes turned out very cute and I was extremely pleased. =)

This is one of the first cakes I ever made that I deem good enough to post on this blog. It's hard to believe this was over 3 years ago. I made this cake for my sister's 31st birthday and I remember being extremely proud of how it turned out as I'm sure it was probably my first serious attempt at roses. If I remember correctly, it tasted pretty awesome, too....there's no such thing as too much chocolate!
