The theme of this party was "Construction Pals" for a little boy's 2nd birthday. His mom sent me a picture of the decorations above prior to coming up with an idea for a cake. After looking at some cakes done by others on the internet, I combined a few ideas and came up with the cake below. The cake is vanilla/chocolate marble with buttercream icing and fondant decorations. I added a second picture of the cake below for a better view of the dump truck topper. =)

Wedding Shower Cake Pops
April 21, 2012
For one of my good friend's wedding shower, her matron of honor requested cake pops. She came up with the combinations and they really ended up working well together. There were 4 dozen total with the following combinations: (1) chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, peanut butter coating, & nuts; (2) vanilla cake, chocolate frosting, milk chocolate coating, & cookies n' creme; (3) dark chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, dark chocolate coating, & gold sprinkles; (4) red velvet cake, cream cheese frosting, white chocolate coating, & pearl sprinkles. The shower was held at Lawrencefield Bed & Breakfast where we mingled while enjoying a tapas & wine type party, so the cake pops worked wonderfully as they are in a way they're own little dessert tapas =)

Fun Zebra Print Birthday
April 6, 2012
For my niece's 5th birthday party, I decided to surprise her with the design of the cake. Since the party had to be held on a Friday evening and I had to work all week, I didn't have time to do an elaborate 2 or 3 tier cake that she is accustomed to nor did I want to travel a couple hours with a multi-tiered cake; however, I still wanted to make it fun and beautiful. The entire cake is edible except for the silver ribbon around the top of the cake and surprisingly, the kids actually seemed to enjoy the fondant covering. Mischa loves animal prints, so I thought she'd really enjoy the zebra print theme of this cake. It turned out great and since the cake was chocolate, I also made some vanilla/cream cheese frosting cake pops as an extra treat =)
